The Gowda Foundation brings people together around food, dignity, and the simple act of showing up for one another.
See our four annual gatheringsWe're starting with four gatherings a year — small, practical efforts built around care and community, with more to come.
Ramachandra L. Gowda served the people of Virginia Beach for 47 years — right beside them. He looked after people in India the same way. He believed in community action and making an impact in the world: that real change comes from showing up, doing the work, and feeding the people around you.
His creed: no one sleeps hungry.
Our mark is a wrist held gently in another's hand — the giving side, the side that releases. It is the oldest gesture there is: I see you, take this. One hand offering, one hand receiving, neither above the other.
That is how Ram lived. That is what we carry forward.
We are shaping a yearly rhythm of service and shared meals. Confirmed details will be added as each gathering approaches.
